6 Pieces of Success Advice for 2016

This is my final post of 2015.  As usual, I’m taking off the last two weeks of the year to relax and celebrate. I always post something inspirational at the end of the year. The other day, I received a notice from my friends at Pinterest telling me that my pin with the caption, “Humility truly is a virtue” received the most repins.  You can check out all of my Pinterest boards here.

The image on this pin is Mother Teresa’s Humility List. It’s a long list. I think it provides some good advice, not only on being humble, but for life and career success.

Below you’ll find six items on the list that will help you create the successful and fulfilling life and career you deserve.

  • Keep busy with your own affairs and not those of others.
  • Accept small irritations with good humor.
  • Do not dwell on the faults of others.
  • Accept censures, insults and injuries even if unmerited.
  • Be courteous and delicate; even when provoked by someone.
  • Choose always the more difficult task.

Following these six simple pieces of advice will help make your 2016 your best year ever. While they are simple and straightforward, they can be difficult to practice consistently. The fifth one – Be courteous and delicate; even when provoked by someone – is a tough one for me. When the old fight/flight response kicks in, my default position is fight. Next year I’ll be working on being courteous and delicate when I’m provoked.

Which of these will be working on in 2016?

I wish you all the best this holiday season and I hope that 2016 is your best year ever.
