Your career mentor loves the Daily Muse. They post some great articles on life and career success — like this one…
Asking yourself these questions — and answering honestly will help you create the life and career success you want and deserve.
While all of these questions are important, I particularly like questions 1 and 5.
Question 1 — Did I work towards my goals today? is key to your success. You can be very busy and not do a single thing that helps you move towards your goals. Avoid the busy trap by asking and answering this question. If you find that you didn’t do much to help you accomplish your goals today, start over with renewed focus tomorrow. You can take this advice one step further. At any given point in the day stop and ask yourself this question: Is what I’m doing right now contributing to me achieving my goals?
Question 5 — What mistakes did I make today, and what can I learn from them? is another powerful question to ask yourself. Mistakes are OK, as long as you don’t keep making the same mistake over and over. This means that you have to learn from your mistakes. When things don’t go as planned, take the time to figure out the lesson in the mistake, then do what you have to do to never make that same mistake again.
The career mentor point here is simple common sense. As yourself these six simple questions every day. Use the answers to help guide you on your life and career success journey.
