I came across a post by Michael Hyatt the other day that focused on taking care of your heart. As an old timer, I decided to take a look. Michael presents some great advice in the post – and I think it is valuable information for anyone – whether you’re a Boomer like me, or a Millennial. You can see the article here.
Michael suggests four disciplines for staying heart healthy…
- The Discipline of Reflection
- The Discipline of Rest
- The Discipline of Recreation
- The Discipline of Relationships
All four are important. Coincidentally, I am able to combine all four on one of my favorite activities – bicycling. Cathy and I bike together, so it is great for our relationship. Bicycling is great recreation – a fun, low-impact aerobic exercise. I always sleep better on nights that I’ve exercised. And some of my best thoughts come when I’m on my bike.
I’m lucky this way – a four for one activity.
What do you do to make sure that you find time for reflection? For rest? For Recreation? For working on your relationships?

Bud
