Slackers can be frustrating — especially when you need them to come through for you on a project. This article lays out a simple question you can ask a slacker coworker to get them to come through for you…
By asking this simple question…
“What ideas do you have for… (finishing this on time, placating the customer, responding to the client, doing things better in the future, whatever else you think is required to fix the thing you messed up)?”
… you put yourself in a position to get the problem resolved and to strengthen your relationship with the slacker. You’re not chastising him or her, you are inviting him or her to join you in solving a problem.
This approach works. I use it all the time. Try it for yourself.
