How You Can Ace a Video Interview

Members of my career mentoring site tell me that increasingly they are asked to do video interviews — even when the company is located in the town where they live.  I am always trying to be helpful, so I did a little searching and came up with a great article on how to succeed in a video interview.  Check it out…

This is great advice, and I suggest you follow all of it.  However, the best piece of advice in the article is to treat a video interview as if it is an in person interview.  Prepare by learning as much as you can about the company and the position.  Anticipate the questions you are likely to receive.  Develop answers for each of the questions.  Use the START method that I described in this blog post.  Practice your answers out loud.

Video interviews are your chance to make a great first impression — and get invited in for an in person interview.  Treat them seriously.

Your career mentor,

Bud
