The Benefits of Walking to Work

I don’t have much of a commute — two flights of stairs.  But I think the career success  advice in this article is important.

When I lived in New York City I used to walk the 25 blocks to work every day — except when the weather was really bad.

And, as the article suggests, I arrived at work better able to focus and ready to start my day.  I wasn’t sluggish like many of my coworkers who commuted by car, bus, train or subway.

Even if you can’t walk all the way to your office, try parking a little further away and walking that last mile or half mile.  You’ll be surprised at the difference it will make in your work life.
