My friends at the Walk the Talk Company have published four of my books. Recently, they released a new book on leadership called The Little Book with 50 Big Ideas on Leadership. The book begins with the premise that all of us are called on to lead from time to time – which is true. You need to be ready when your time comes.

The Three “RITYs”
Three words that end in the letters “rity” form the basis for trust ChaRITY
People will trust you when they “feel” your selfless, giving ways.
With charity, they trust your heart. ClaRITY
People trust leaders who provide a clear vision, relevant instruction and good information.
With clarity, they trust your head. IntegRITY
People trust leaders who walk their talk, live their beliefs and keep their promises.
With integrity, they trust your character and your word.

Which “RITY” do you need to work on?
I think that we all need to work on all three ritys. You are on the right track when you can get people to trust you head, heart and character.
You get people to trust your heart when you are kind and willing to do for others with no expectation of return.
You get people to trust your head when you are able to present your ideas – in conversation, writing and presentations – in a clear and concise manner.
You get people to trust your character when you follow through, when you do what you say you’ll do.
I love the concept of ritys. I suggest that you keep it in mind as you go about your day to day business. Focus on living a life of ChaRITY, ClaRITY and IntegRITY.
