Time to Prepare for Your Annual Performance Review

It’s December — time to wrap up this year and begin to think about next year.  The article lists seven things you’ll want to do this month to finish 2014 strong and get 2015 off to a flying start.

I particularly like the first piece of advice — list your wins.  It’s time to take stock of all you accomplished this year.  Focus not on only of what you’ve accomplished, but the obstacles you overcame along the way.  Doing this will help you prepare for your performance review.

Many companies mandate a self evaluation in their performance review process.  You should take this seriously.  By listing your accomplishments — and obstacles overcome along the way — you will be better prepared for a face to face discussion with your boss.
