Resilience is often listed as an important key to life and career success. Researchers have found that people who has a positive outlook are more likely to bounce back from life’s inevitable setbacks. On the other hand, people with a negative outlook find it harder to do so.
New research shows that we can take steps to generate positive emotions, increase our resilience – and become more successful.
Here’s a list of things you can do to help you generate positive emotions and become a more positive person.
- Do things for others.
- Appreciate the small good things in your life and this world.
- Make friends, build relationships.
- Set realistic goals, and then go out and accomplish them.
- Be curious. Learn something every day.
- Accept yourself — even your flaws.
- Accept others — even their flaws.
- Treat setbacks as failures as learning experiences.
- Be mindful, focus on the here and now. Let go of things you can’t control.
I do my best to practice these behaviors. You shold too. Put them to work in your life, and you’ll see positive results.
